Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Torgio Kazikuni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Torgio Kazikuni! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Smith! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith pushes Kazikuni up against the ropes in a clinch. Kazikuni missing with knees to the body.
Kazikuni lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards. Smith wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kazikuni digs a right hand into Smith's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Smith's gas tank. Kazikuni tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Kazikuni wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smith has him pressed against the ropes. Kazikuni cracks Smith with a nice body shot. Kazikuni tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kazikuni wants to break free but Smith has control.
Kazikuni lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards. Kazikuni tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position. A short body shot lands from Kazikuni as the two fighters clinch.

Smith looks gassed! Kazikuni wants to break free but Smith has control.
Smith avoids the elbow strike from Kazikuni, against the ropes.
Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Kazikuni tries to land knees in the clinch but Smith avoids the damage to the body. Kazikuni tries to land a knee to the head but Smith blocks with his arms.
Smith keeps control of Kazikuni as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Smith wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kazikuni missing with knees to the body.
Smith avoids the elbow strike from Kazikuni, against the ropes.
Kazikuni is looking to break free of the clinch but Smith has double underhooks. Kazikuni using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Smith has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smith keeps control of Kazikuni as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kazikuni lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes. Smith managing to block the knees to the body from Kazikuni.
Kazikuni throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Smith stalling in the clinch but Kazikuni improves position. Kazikuni manages to break the clinch.
Smith walks into a stiff left hand from Kazikuni.
It looks like Jay Smith has been cut. Kazikuni throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fighters circle momentarily. Kazikuni darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Smith misses with a wild combination.

Torgio Kazikuni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kazikuni fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kazikuni is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kazikuni jabs Smith right on the nose. Smith blinks but takes it well. Kazikuni misses with a head kick.
The crowd cheers as Kazikuni lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donk. Kazikuni catches Smith right on the button with a cross. Smith feints and as Kazikuni raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kazikuni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This has been an exciting period of action! Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kazikuni wants to sweep but no luck. Smith lands a couple of elbows. Smith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kazikuni looking for a triangle here. Smith is fighting it but it looks tight! Kazikuni pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Smith is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Torgio Kazikuni!
