Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masakazu Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes into the arena with Sandstorm by Darude blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Masakazu Aoki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki moves out of range of the strikes.
Masakazu Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aoki tries to clinch up but Nelson circles away and keeps his distance.
Aoki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Aoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aoki throws a big shot that misses.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Nelson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A close third round but Jake Nelson just about did enough to take it.

Aoki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nelson cracks Aoki with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Aoki sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Aoki wants to get back to full guard but Nelson has passed into side control.
Nelson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Aoki's shoulder. That is not cool.
Aoki is looking to regain half guard here but Nelson keeps moving and retains side control.

Aoki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Nelson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
