Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Pijakowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes into the arena with Joe Esposito- You're the best around blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karol Pijakowski! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko misses with an uppercut. Pijakowski takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Karol Pijakowski has been cut. Emelianenko throws a right and a left that both miss. Pijakowski shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pijakowski gets a takedown into half guard. Pijakowski wants to stand up but Emelianenko is controlling the position.

Emelianenko is controlling Pijakowski's position as best he can from this difficult position. Pijakowski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Emelianenko desperately trying to maintain half guard. Pijakowski is trying to control. Emelianenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pijakowski looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Emelianenko dives in and scores a takedown into Pijakowski's guard. Emelianenko controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've been hearing that Emelianenko has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Emelianenko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Pijakowski can't do much from the bottom here. Emelianenko moves into full mount! Emelianenko content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pijakowski has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelianenko looking to control but Pijakowski is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Emelianenko looking to control and managing it successfully. Emelianenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pijakowski is looking to escape. Pijakowski gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Fedor Emelianenko has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Emelianenko drives through and clinches with Pijakowski against the cage.

Emelianenko has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pijakowski uses from the top position. Pijakowski wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Emelianenko is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Pijakowski rolls with it to try and escape but Emelianenko cranks on the arm and Pijakowski is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Fedor Emelianenko! After the fight, Fedor Emelianenko was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
