Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Dumas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dumas has chosen The Writer as his entrance music. Alexandre Dumas has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Allen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexandre Dumas!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dumas walks into a straight right hand from Allen.
Dumas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.
Allen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dumas is looking to clinch but Allen is avoiding it.
Dumas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dumas throws a nice looking combination but Allen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
It looked like Allen was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dumas.
Dumas changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Allen lands with a straight right. Dumas didn't see that one coming.
A looping hook to the body misses from Allen. Dumas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Allen cracks Dumas with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Allen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Allen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Allen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dumas catches Allen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Dumas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Dumas.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Allen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dumas's elbow.
Allen scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Dumas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Allen is trying to break the clinch but Dumas is controlling him.
I was talking to Allen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Dumas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Stalling in the clinch from Allen.
Allen can't find room to land a body shot as Dumas controls the action.

Dumas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Allen looking to stall.
Allen working hard to break the clinch.
Allen takes a shot to the head.
Dumas tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A short right from Dumas on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dumas.
Allen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dumas backwards.
Dumas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Dumas struggles to land a body shot inside as Allen controls his hands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Allen scores with a nice short uppercut.
Dumas tries to pull guard but Allen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Allen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dumas's elbow.
Allen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Allen.

Allen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Allen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dumas.
Allen throws a body shot but no joy.
Allen works Dumas's body with a nice hook.
Allen digs a good body shot into Dumas's ribs.
Allen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Allen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dumas to score with a decent uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dumas throws an overhand right that lands on Allen's shoulder, as Allen tries to avoid the shot.
Allen misses with a hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dumas lands with a shot to the body.
Allen throws a poor cross that misses

and Dumas counters by clinching up.
Dumas tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Dumas stalls.
Dumas lands a shoulder strike.
Allen being controlled against the cage.
Allen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Dumas scores with a nice short uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Allen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Allen takes a swing at Dumas's ribcage but misses.
Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dumas moves away.
Dumas misses with a combination
and Allen counters with a stiff right hand.
Allen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Allen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dumas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dumas wants to clinch up but Allen keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed right hand from Allen misses the target.
Dumas moves out of range as Allen strikes.
Dumas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Allen looks to land a right hand but Dumas moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dumas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Allen backs up against the cage.


Allen is rocked!
Dumas moves to clinch but Allen breaks away
and Allen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Allen misses with a wild body shot.
Allen keeps the fight on the outside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Allen misses with a shot to the body
and Dumas counters with a left to the body.
Dumas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Mike Allen is winning the standup battle so far.
Dumas wants to clinch.
Dumas fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dumas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Allen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Dumas tries to clinch but Allen moves out of range.
Allen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dumas ducks right into an uppercut from Allen.
Dumas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Allen looks to score with a jab to the body but Dumas is just out of range.
Allen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Dumas gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Allen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Dumas misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dumas working aggressively here.
Allen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Allen tries to circle away but Dumas has him pinned against the cage.
Allen prevents a body shot from Dumas.
Allen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dumas can do to turn this around?

Dumas manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Dumas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Dumas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dumas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dumas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Allen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dumas.
Dumas is not content to let Allen control the position.
Dumas can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Allen dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dumas throws an off balance right hand
and Allen counters with a two punch combo.
Allen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dumas steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Allen.
Allen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A punch lands to the side of Dumas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Allen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Dumas is rocked!
Dumas throws a looping overhand right but Allen ducks down to avoid it.
Dumas is still on wobbly legs! Can Allen finish him?
Allen cracks Dumas with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Dumas tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Allen pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Dumas is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Allen!
Mike Allen is the new lightweight champion!
