Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hilo Son! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rea Per! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Per does no damage. Son misses with a wild combination.
Per scores with a nice strike.
Son is rocked! A solid leg kick lands there for Per.
Son tries for a takedown but Per sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Per throws a hook to the side of Son's head but Son sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Per stuffs the takedown. Per fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Son. Son is breathing heavily. Son blocks a head kick by Per.
Per throws a combination that misses and Son counters with a series of strikes. Per will be more careful next time no doubt. Son avoids a punch combination nicely.
Per will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Per fails to land with a series of punches.
A nice inside leg kick there by Per. That's going to slow Son down. Son chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Per can pounce on him.
Per throws a leg kick but Son sees it coming and moves out of range. Son throws a combination that misses enabling Per to counter with a crisp jab. Oh Son is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nice body kick there by Per. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Per throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Son crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
