8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jens Pedersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Fardy! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fardy misses with a wild combination.
Pedersen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Fardy drops his hands momentarily and Pedersen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pedersen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pedersen tries to clinch but Fardy moves away and Fardy counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Nice body punch from Fardy - that landed with a thud.
Fardy lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Fardy working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Fardy blocks an elbow strike from Pedersen.
Pedersen throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Fardy blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Fardy lands with a left to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good anti-grappling being displayed by Pedersen as Fardy tries to tie him up. Fardy misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pedersen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fardy backwards. Pedersen blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Fardy blocks an elbow strike. Pedersen lands an elbow inside that Fardy shrugs off.
It looks like Josh Fardy has been cut.

I was talking to Pedersen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Fardy is trying to break the clinch but Pedersen has him pressed against the cage. Fardy lands with a short shot to the head. Pedersen throws a punch but it's blocked by Fardy. Pedersen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Pedersen blocks an uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pedersen. Pedersen blocking some punches.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fardy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Fardy can't find room to land a body shot as Pedersen controls the action.

Pedersen pushes Fardy back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Pedersen lands a shot to the body. Pedersen blocks an uppercut.
Fardy lands a hook to the side of the head. Pedersen is leaning against Fardy and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Pedersen blocks a body shot from Fardy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fardy with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

The cut above Josh Fardy's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Fardy lands on the inside with an uppercut. Pedersen lands with a short head shot on the inside. Fardy working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Pedersen misses with a hook to the ribs.

Pedersen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Fardy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pedersen's elbow. Pedersen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fardy backwards. A nice left hand lands by Pedersen.

Fardy is rocked!
Josh Fardy's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Pedersen lands a hook that snaps the head of Fardy backwards. Fardy is still on wobbly legs! Can Pedersen finish him? Fardy can't find room to land a body shot as Pedersen controls the action.
Pedersen dips a shoulder and cracks Fardy with a mighty uppercut! Fardy falls back against the cage and Pedersen unloads with a barrage of strikes! Fardy is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Pedersen screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jens Pedersen! Jens Pedersen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
