Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Asztalos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Asztalos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alex Entrance Song . Smith has chosen I Am The Law as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Asztalos on the side of the head.
Smith swings for the body but Asztalos moves out of range.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.

Asztalos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Asztalos feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Asztalos throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've been informed that Smith has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

A chopping leg kick lands by Asztalos.
Smith blocks a jab.
Asztalos throws a body shot but no joy.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Asztalos's shoulder, as Asztalos tries to avoid the shot.
Asztalos works over Smith's head and body with a nice combination.
Smith connects with an inside leg kick.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Smith throws a low kick, looking for Asztalos's leg but Asztalos calmly moves out of range.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Asztalos catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Smith lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Asztalos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Smith.
Asztalos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Asztalos takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Asztalos lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.

Asztalos drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Asztalos waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Smith is rocked!
Smith leaves his chin hanging out and Asztalos seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Smith crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alex Asztalos!
A very excited looking Alex Asztalos rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
