The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Romero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vandelay is fending him off so far but Romero persists. Nope, Vandelay circles away and we're back to standing.

Vandelay wants to control from the top but Romero keeps moving.

Romero pushes Vandelay off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Vandelay counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Romero's guard now.

Vandelay content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Romero has locked up a guillotine! Romero's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Vandelay is holding on here and Romero must be using up a lot of energy. Vandelay has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Romero gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
