Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nijhoff has his takedown stuffed
and Khulagov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Khulagov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Our spies down at at WarZone Training Facility 1 inform us that Khulagov has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nijhoff keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Khulagov's head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Khulagov has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Nijhoff doesn't defend quickly enough and Khulagov has managed to lock this one up! Can Nijhoff escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Khulagov on a fantastic submission victory.

After winning the bout, Shamsudin Khulagov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
