Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lyndon Russell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brad Mansfield! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mansfield is on top in guard.
Mansfield showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Russell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mansfield on the ground. Russell wants to stand and escape but Mansfield is having none of it. Mansfield is stalling in the full guard. Mansfield trying to control but Russell is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mansfield throwing strikes but missing. Russell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Russell tries to get out of the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Brad Mansfield was stalling too much, according to the referee. Russell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mansfield! Mansfield tries to improve position but can't. I wouldn't like to be where Mansfield is right now. Mansfield is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Russell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. Mansfield manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mansfield is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Russell has his hands clasped together but Mansfield extends and breaks Russell's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mansfield.
