Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Suleman Pokong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Billy Blumpkin!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pokong pushes Blumpkin up against the cage in a clinch.
Pokong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Blumpkin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Blumpkin misses with a takedown attempt - Pokong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Blumpkin.
Pokong swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Blumpkin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Pokong cracks a nice hook into Blumpkin's ribs.
Pokong wants to clinch up but Blumpkin keeps it at a distance.
Pokong ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Blumpkin looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pokong batters Blumpkin with a massive right followed by a huge left! Blumpkin is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Pokong lands a final crushing right hand to drop Blumpkin to the mat with a gruesome thud! Pokong is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Suleman Pokong!
