The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Chavez.
Tutuola uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chavez.
Chavez drops Tutuola with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tutuola looks back up at him and smiles so Chavez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Tutuola is rocked!
It looks like Odafin Tutuola has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chavez throws a series of punches but Tutuola avoids them all with ease.
Oh Tutuola is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chavez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chavez's coach down at Diamond In The Rough Training Facility was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chavez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Tutuola wants to clinch.
Chavez throws an uppercut from hell that sends Tutuola clean off his feet! He's out cold! Chavez stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Miguel Chavez!
Post fight, an emotional Miguel Chavez said 'This is my belt! It ain't going nowhere!'.
