Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Houston Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noll Smitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Houston Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Noll Smitz!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Smitz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smitz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Warren, pushing him back against the cage.
Warren jumps guard but Smitz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Smitz lands an uppercut.

Smitz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smitz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Smitz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Warren in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Smitz controlling Warren's posture.
Smitz keeping moving, preventing Warren from controlling successfully.

Smitz looking for a guillotine here but Warren defends easily.

Smitz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Warren stops Smitz from standing up.
Warren trying to control the position from guard on top but Smitz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Warren is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Smitz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Smitz has escaped and now he's on top!

Warren is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smitz looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Warren thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smitz's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smitz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smitz wants to improve his position but Warren is controlling well.
Smitz gets full guard.
Smitz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Smitz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Warren keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smitz's head.

Smitz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Warren manages to get himself to full guard.
Smitz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Smitz wants to pass the guard but Warren is keeping the position.

Smitz passes Warren's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Warren is trying to maintain the position but Smitz is very close to passing his half guard.
Smitz works his way into side control.
Smitz controls the position.
Smitz landing a few strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smitz in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smitz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Smitz takes a little break here. Warren wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noll Smitz dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Smitz pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Warren gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smitz to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Warren is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Warren is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smitz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Smitz advances to half guard.
Warren is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smitz trying to pass the guard but Warren defending well.
Smitz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Noll Smitz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Warren wants to sweep but Smitz has passed to side control!
A lull in the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Warren tries to improve position but can't.
Warren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smitz on the ground.

Smitz decides to stand back up. Smitz steps back and let's Warren get back to his feet.

Smitz gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smitz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Warren is trying to control but can't.

Smitz decides to return to a standing position.
Warren fails with a takedown attempt.

Smitz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Smitz scoring with punches and elbows.
Warren is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Smitz tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Warren tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Smitz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noll Smitz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Warren's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Warren misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smitz throws a head kick but Warren moves out of range.
Smitz wants to clinch up but Warren keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Warren is defended easily by Smitz.
Warren shoots for a double leg takedown but Smitz sprawls well. He's pushed Warren's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smitz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Warren closes the distance and pushes Smitz back into the cage.
Warren blocks an elbow strike from Smitz.

Smitz gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Smitz working some strikes from top position.
Warren working a defensive guard here.

Smitz is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Warren controls Smitz momentarily but Smitz frees himself.
Smitz wants to get up but he can't break Warren's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Warren wants to sweep here but Smitz controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Smitz is pushing down on Warren's leg trying to pass to half guard. Warren is fighting to maintain full guard but Smitz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Smitz wants to pass the guard but Warren is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Warren is in trouble now - Smitz has advanced to mount!
Smitz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smitz working the ground and pound effectively.


Warren is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smitz lands a big shot to the head and Warren winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
