Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maria Ozawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Haywood Jablowme!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jablowme shoots in looking for a takedown but Ozawa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jablowme's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jablowme looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ozawa drives through and clinches with Jablowme against the cage.
Jablowme wants to get back to striking at distance but Ozawa won't allow it.
Ozawa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jablowme tries to keep at a distance but Ozawa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ozawa lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Ozawa utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Ozawa putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jablowme in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ozawa gets control of Jablowme's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ozawa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jablowme must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ozawa looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Jablowme is defending well. Ozawa quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Jablowme has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ozawa celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Maria Ozawa!
After winning the bout, Maria Ozawa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
