The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jakinek sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Azhiev somewhat.
Azhiev takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Azhiev throws a wild body kick that Jakinek sees coming a mile off.
Jakinek scores with a one two! Azhiev had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Jakinek looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jakinek fails to land with a series of punches.

Azhiev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jakinek sprawls well initially but Azhiev persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Azhiev shoots for a double leg takedown but Jakinek sprawls well. He's pushed Azhiev's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jakinek will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Azhiev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jakinek circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Azhiev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jakinek is trying to defend but Azhiev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Azhiev has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Jakinek defend it? Azhiev steps over the head and cranks it - Jakinek is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Azhiev!

Anzor Azhiev opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
