Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dannie Faulkner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shun Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masaru looking to land some kicks to the body here.

It looks like Dannie Faulkner has been cut.
Faulkner shoots in looking for a takedown. Masaru tries to sprawl out of it but Faulkner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masaru manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Masaru has taken the fight to the clinch.
Faulkner creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Masaru's defenses.
Faulkner is looking for a takedown.
A bit of stalling here from Faulkner.

Faulkner gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Masaru is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Faulkner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Faulkner stands up and waves to Masaru to follow him.

Masaru scores with a nice body kick.
Masaru is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Faulkner like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Faulkner from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shun Masaru!
Shun Masaru decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
