Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boyd Lowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lowe's choice of entrance music: millon dollar driver. Boyd Lowe is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Turner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lowe jumps into guard, dragging Turner to the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Turner trying to control but Lowe is working from the bottom.

Turner stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Lowe moves into the clinch.
Lowe is trying to break free.

Lowe manages to break the clinch.

Lowe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Turner is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Lowe decides to stand back up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turner gets caught flat footed, as Lowe shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lowe has gone for a leg lock! Turner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lowe's guard.
Lowe has Turner pulled in close to control his posture.
Turner wants to control from the top but Lowe keeps moving.
Turner looking to sit in guard and control but Lowe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lowe with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Lowe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lowe dives in and scores a takedown into Turner's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Turner is looking to escape.

Lowe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lowe prevents Turner from standing back up.

Lowe is working for a submission of some sort.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lowe connects with a nice short shot to Turner's temple.
Turner is breathing heavily.
Lowe is keen to just control but Turner is a slippery customer.
Turner wants to stand back up but Lowe manages to pass into side control.

Lowe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Turner has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lowe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lowe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lowe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Turner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Turner is trying to buck Lowe off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lowe has hold of Turner's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Turner tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lowe cranks the arm and Turner screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Turner, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Boyd Lowe!
Boyd Lowe got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
