Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melo comes to the cage accompanied by Fort Minor - Remember the name. The key to victory for Felipe Melo has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Melo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Snow!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Melo circles away from the clinch attempt
and Melo counters with a leg kick.
Snow takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Snow takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Jon Snow has been cut.
Snow misses with a combination
and Melo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Melo lands a leg kick that knocks Snow off balance momentarily.
Snow checks a leg kick.

Melo swings widly with a right hand
and Snow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Melo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Some wild striking there from Snow.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Melo. Snow shrugs it off though.
A chopping leg kick lands by Melo.
Melo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Melo misses with a leg kick
and Snow counters with a three punch combo that has Melo backing up. Melo nods at Snow to acknowledge the strikes.
Jab, jab by Melo - just one landing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Melo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Snow.
Snow has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Melo.
Melo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Felipe Melo has been cut.
Melo motions for Snow to come forward. Melo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Melo throws a lazy head kick
and Snow counters with a three punch combo that has Melo backing up. Melo nods at Snow to acknowledge the strikes.
Melo throws a quick inside leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Melo scores with a spinning back kick!
Snow falls off balance throwing a combination
and Melo makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Snow really felt that one!
Melo throws a lazy head kick
and Snow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Melo feints and then cracks Snow's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Snow down.
Good leg kick by Melo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Snow takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Snow avoids the body shot from Melo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Snow crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Melo - the referee stops the clock and Snow gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Melo. Snow manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Felipe Melo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snow looks winded!
Snow takes a head kick and keeps coming.


That has opened up Jon Snow's cut even more.
Melo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Melo lands with a nice body kick.
Melo wants to slow Snow down by chopping away at his legs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Melo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Melo throws a push kick but Snow slaps the foot to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Felipe Melo dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Snow throws a left and a right that both miss
and Melo counters with a leg kick.
Melo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A nice inside leg kick there by Melo. That's going to slow Snow down.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Snow checks a leg kick.
Melo scores with a jab.
Melo swats away the attempt to clinch by Snow.
Snow throws a sloppy head kick and Melo moves out of range easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Snow tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jon Snow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Snow chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Melo can pounce on him.
Melo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Snow is breathing heavily.
Snow blocks the body kick.
Melo throws a head kick but Snow moves out of range.
Melo throws a right and a left that Snow avoids nicely.
Felipe Melo is winning the standup battle so far.
Melo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Snow manages to avoid it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Melo, as that shot connected.


The cut above Jon Snow's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Melo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Melo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Snow has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Melo.
Melo misses with a looping right.
Melo misses with a low kick.
Melo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A good leg kick by Melo.

Melo lands a leg kick that knocks Snow off balance momentarily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Melo.
A solid leg kick lands there for Melo.
Snow takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Melo lands a head kick!


Jon Snow's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Melo throws a nice outside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Melo lands with a right hand.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jon Snow's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Felipe Melo!
Felipe Melo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
