PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matsumae Sukeyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumae Sukeyuki is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez throws a head kick that misses.
Sukeyuki looks to land a right hand but Ramirez moved out of range.
Sukeyuki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Matsumae Sukeyuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramirez throws a low kick but Sukeyuki moves out of range easily.
Sukeyuki lands with a nice body punch.
Ramirez shoots in looking for a takedown. Sukeyuki tries to sprawl out of it but Ramirez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sukeyuki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ramirez has his takedown stuffed

and Sukeyuki counters by moving into the clinch.
Ramirez is trying to pull guard but Sukeyuki turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Matsumae Sukeyuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Ramirez.

Sukeyuki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez tries a head kick but it misses.
Ramirez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sukeyuki .
Sukeyuki lands a slapping body shot.
Ramirez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Sukeyuki paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Sukeyuki lands a jab to the nose.
Ramirez dives in for a single leg takedown but Sukeyuki sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Sukeyuki drags the fight down to the ground.

Ramirez wants to stand but Sukeyuki is controlling his posture from full guard.

Rob Ramirez has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ramirez throws a combination. Sukeyuki tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Matsumae Sukeyuki has been cut.
Sukeyuki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ramirez circles away quickly and effectively.
Sukeyuki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ramirez.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sukeyuki connects with a right hand. Ramirez shakes it off.
Sukeyuki leaves Ramirez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ramirez fails with the takedown.

Ramirez gets caught napping as Sukeyuki dives in and scores a takedown. Ramirez manages to retain guard.
Sukeyuki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ramirez looking for a sweep. Not yet Ramirez, not yet.
Ramirez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sukeyuki is controlling him.
Sukeyuki is looking to work some ground and pound but Ramirez has wrist control.
Ramirez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sukeyuki controls the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Matsumae Sukeyuki wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sukeyuki throws a series of punches but Ramirez moves out of range.
Sukeyuki feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ramirezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sukeyuki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ramirez circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ramirez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ramirez tries a low kick but Sukeyuki avoids it.
Sukeyuki throws a body kick that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ramirez tries to clinch up but Sukeyuki circles away and keeps his distance.

Ramirez moves into range and clinches up with Sukeyuki .
Sukeyuki wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ramirez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sukeyuki is keeping busy.
Sukeyuki works on Ramirez's body with a couple of short punches.

Ramirez decides to pull guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ramirez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sukeyuki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sukeyuki is looking to stand up but Ramirez won't let him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sukeyuki postures up.
Sukeyuki prevents Ramirez from getting back to his feet.

Ramirez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sukeyuki is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rob Ramirez will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Matsumae Sukeyuki 's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sukeyuki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Sukeyuki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ramirez is trying to defend but Sukeyuki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ramirez wants to control but Sukeyuki is keeping busy.

Sukeyuki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramirez on the ground.
Ramirez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sukeyuki is working away from the top position though.

Sukeyuki stands and steps away. Ramirez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Matsumae Sukeyuki is winning the standup battle so far.
Ramirez looks to clinch
enabling Sukeyuki to counter with a crisp jab.

Sukeyuki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Ramirez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sukeyuki seems keen to control Ramirez's posture.
Ramirez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ramirez stops Sukeyuki from standing up.
Ramirez is pushing down on Sukeyuki 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sukeyuki is fighting to maintain full guard but Ramirez has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramirez is keen to just control but Sukeyuki is a slippery customer.

Well, if Ramirez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sukeyuki is staying active underneath Ramirez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rob Ramirez.

Sukeyuki gets a takedown into half guard.

Sukeyuki is nestled in close to Ramirez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ramirez has one foot on Sukeyuki 's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Ramirez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sukeyuki tries to avoid it but Ramirez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sukeyuki to the ground. Sukeyuki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sukeyuki lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sukeyuki swats away the attempt to clinch by Ramirez.
Sukeyuki connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Ramirez looking for a triangle here. Sukeyuki is fighting it but it looks tight! Ramirez pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Sukeyuki is tapping out - this one is all over!
