Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dronjko Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaki Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura has chosen Yankee Station as his entrance music. Dronjko Black has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dronjko Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Masaki Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black throws a nice looking combination but Kimura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Black tries to bum rush Kimura with a series of wild strikes but Kimura uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kimura misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kimura shoots in looking for a takedown. Black tries to sprawl out of it but Kimura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Black tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kimura swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kimura feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Kimura changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Black trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Black controls Kimura momentarily but Kimura frees himself.
Black has Kimura pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Black tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black is striking but Kimura is not phased and passes to half guard.
Black is refusing to be controlled, as Kimura sits in half guard.
Black is trying to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kimura tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Black closes the distance and clinches.
Black is looking to control Kimura's arms but Kimura gets an underhook and turns him. Now Black has his back to the cage.
Black scores with a shot to the side of Kimura's head.
Kimura wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Black has him pressed against the cage.
Kimura changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Black fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kimura gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Black wants to get back to striking at distance but Kimura won't allow it.
Black blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Black avoiding damage as Kimura throws knees to the body.
A left hand lands to the body for Black.
Kimura wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Black lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kimura backwards.
Black is stalling here.
Kimura is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Black is keeping busy.

Black pulls Kimura into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kimura stands up and waves to Black to follow him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kimura looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Black fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black is looking to clinch but Kimura is avoiding it.
Kimura avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Black tries to clinch
and Kimura counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Black darts in trying to clinch
and Kimura counters with a good, hard body kick but Black shrugs it off.
Kimura tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Black shoots and misses
and Kimura makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Black tries to clinch up but Kimura circles away and keeps his distance.
Black wants to clinch.
Kimura doesn't manage to clinch there - Black circles away.

Kimura has Black up against the cage in a clinch.
Black keeps control of Kimura as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Black lands an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kimura trying to stall but Black improves his position.
Black tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kimura just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kimura looking to slow down the pace here.
Kimura lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Black backwards.
Kimura has Black pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Black manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dronjko Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masaki Kimura.

Kimura breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kimura keeps the fight on the outside.
Kimura throws a nice head kick!
Kimura tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kimura throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Black tries for a takedown but Kimura circles away easily
and Kimura counters with a slapping leg kick.
Black is breathing heavily.
Kimura tries to clinch up but Black circles away and keeps his distance.
A jab lands there for Kimura.
Black shoots for a takedown but Kimura saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kimura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Black tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kimura moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masaki Kimura dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Black tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kimura misses with a head kick.

Black closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Black lands in his opponent's guard.
Kimura is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea.
Kimura is trying to keep Black in close.
Black postures up in Kimura's guard and throws a big left but Kimura blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black thows a big elbow that misses.
Kimura lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Black!
Kimura content just to control the position here.
Black swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Black keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Black is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Kimura is stalling here but it's allowed Black to get half guard.

Kimura working the head and body with strikes.
Kimura is looking to take a break and control but Black is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Black wants to improve his position but Kimura is controlling well.
Kimura wants to take a breather but Black is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Black is looking to control Kimura's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Black avoid being mounted?
Black wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kimura rushes Black and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kimura is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Black is keeping busy.

Kimura breaks from the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Dronjko Black will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Black tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kimura swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kimura throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Black's head.

Black moves into the clinch successfully.
Black lands a hook that snaps the head of Kimura backwards.
Kimura is looking to control Black's arms but Black gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kimura has his back to the cage.
Black tries to break the clinch but Kimura is controlling the position.
Kimura throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Blacks head.
Kimura wants a takedown.

Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Black with that takedown attempt.
Black wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kimura clinches up with Black and pushes him back against the cage.

Kimura breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kimura avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kimura wants to clinch up but Black keeps it at a distance.
Black is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kimura feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Black's calf.

Kimura lands a nice hook to Black's body. Black takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Black is working Kimura over against the cage.
Black has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kimura is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kimura is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Black is keeping busy.
Black tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kimura's elbow.
Black wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kimura pulls guard successfully.
Kimura looking for a sweep. Not yet Kimura, not yet.

Kimura pushes Black off and gets back to his feet.

Black is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kimura slips nicely into half guard.
Kimura performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Black is controlling Kimura's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Black has hold of Kimura's hands but Kimura slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kimura prevents Black from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kimura controlling the action here.
Black flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Black trying to control here.
Kimura seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masaki Kimura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kimura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
