Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsuyoshi Kuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidov comes into the arena with Mamed - CoreMoon blaring out of the sound system. Mamed Khalidov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamed Khalidov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tsuyoshi Kuraba! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuraba shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Khalidov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kuraba sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kuraba advances to half guard. Kuraba performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kuraba prevents Khalidov from improving his position. Kuraba looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khalidov trying to control but Kuraba postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Khalidov tries for a takedown but Kuraba circles away easily and Kuraba counters with a takedown into side control. Kuraba slows the pace down. Khalidov tries to bench press Kuraba off him but Kuraba keeps the position. Khalidov is working hard here to advance position. Kuraba moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Khalidov tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kuraba is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Khalidov is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kuraba connects with a decent elbow. This has been an exciting period of action! Khalidov taking punishment in the form of punches.
Khalidov is looking for a sweep. Kuraba cracks Khalidov with a big right hand but Khalidov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The referee asks Kuraba politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kuraba prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khalidov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kuraba advances to full mount. Kuraba controlling his opponent. Kuraba pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khalidov is desperately trying to improve his position but Kuraba has a good base and remains in mount. Kuraba takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kuraba cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kuraba goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Khalidov is on top in guard.
Khalidov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khalidov trying to control but Kuraba is working from the bottom. Kuraba is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kuraba is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Khalidov looking to pass the guard. Kuraba controlling Khalidov's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tsuyoshi Kuraba dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Khalidov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Kuraba counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tsuyoshi Kuraba has got the better of the ground game so far. Kuraba stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Khalidov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kuraba controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kuraba distracts Khalidov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Kuraba controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tsuyoshi Kuraba wasn't active enough on the ground. Khalidov has his takedown stuffed and Kuraba counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Khalidov wants to control but Kuraba is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kuraba scoring with strikes to the body and head. Kuraba is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Let's hope that Kuraba has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kuraba is looking for a kimura here.
Kuraba lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kuraba wants to pass the guard but Khalidov is defending well. Kuraba is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Khalidov! Kuraba looking to control and managing it successfully. Kuraba working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Khalidov looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Kuraba! Submission of the night perhaps?
