Cartwright's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Irish Fighting Song. Harris has chosen Heretic Anthem as his entrance music. Cavan Cartwright could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marvin Harris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cavan Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marvin Harris!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cartwright.
Harris misses with a straight right.
Harris lands with a good body shot.

Harris tries to sprawl but Cartwright drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Harris is defending against the submission attempts here by Cartwright.
Cartwright missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Harris wants to control but Cartwright is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cartwright throwing shots but Harris is blocking nicely.
Cartwright is nestled in close to Harris, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cartwright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harris's head.

Harris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cartwright lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cartwright.

Cartwright is working for a submission of some sort.
Cartwright throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Harris to regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cartwright trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cartwright postures up in Harris's guard and throws a big left but Harris blocks it.
Cartwright tries to free his leg and advance position but Harris is retaining full guard.
Cartwright trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cartwright controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Harris controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Harris just misses with a punch to the body.
Cartwright fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck for Cartwright with that takedown attempt.
Cartwright looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Marvin Harris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harris as he avoids it easily.
Cartwright tries to clinch up but Harris circles away and keeps his distance.

Cartwright drives through and clinches with Harris against the cage.
Cartwright tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Harris with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Cartwright is working Harris over against the cage.
Harris lands a body punch.
Harris gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cartwright.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cavan Cartwright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cartwright wants a takedown.
Cartwright is looking to control Harris's arms but Harris gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cartwright has his back to the cage.
Nice body punch from Cartwright - that landed with a thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cartwright tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harris swivels and escapes.
Cartwright tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Harris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Cartwright doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
Cartwright is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Harris fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cartwright manages to avoid it.
Cartwright shoots in and drives through. Harris sprawls well.
Cartwright avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Harris feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cartwright's calf.
Cartwright is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harris throws a sloppy head kick and Cartwright moves out of range easily.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cartwright takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Harris lands a slapping body shot.
Crack! Harris connects with the perfect overhand right and Cartwright falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Harris!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marvin Harris!
Cavan Cartwright was interviewed post fight and said 'I gave it my best. I will find a way to do better next time.'.
