Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huber's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space. Jay Penn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Huber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Penn! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn shoots for a takedown but Huber saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Huber looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Penn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Huber stuffs the takedown. Steve Huber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Penn. Penn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Huber is trying to defend but Penn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Penn is working for a submission of some sort.
Penn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Penn is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Huber sees it coming and defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn wants to control but Huber is keeping him busy. Penn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Huber really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Huber avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Penn. Penn seems to be looking for submissions.

Penn takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huber is looking for a sweep. Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Penn has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Penn sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Penn looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Huber's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Penn looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn is working for a guillotine from mount but Huber frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Huber is trying to escape the mount.

Penn goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Huber is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Penn has his foot on Huber's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Huber works his way back into a safe position though. Huber gets to his feet. Penn looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! This has been an exciting period of action! Huber throws a right and a left that both miss. Steve Huber is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Penn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Huber sprawls well. Huber wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Penn gets slowly back to his feet. Huber displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn. Jay Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Penn dodges the punch combination from Huber.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Penn dominated that round. That's time! Huber's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Huber looks to land a combination but Penn avoids it well. Penn misses with a takedown attempt - Huber sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Penn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Huber as he avoids it easily. Penn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Huber but Huber pushes him off and we're back to square one. Steve Huber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Penn. Penn looks for a takedown but Huber sprawls well. Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn shoots in for a takedown but Huber shows good takedown defense. Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Huber which made him look bad. Penn has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Huber looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Huber is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Penn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Penn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Penn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huber pushes Penn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Penn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Penn with the ground and pound but Huber regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Huber is looking to get back to full guard here but Penn has managed to pass to side control instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Huber keeps working. Huber prevents Penn from improving position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Huber looks calm but he's in trouble here. Penn gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Huber is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Penn lets go of the hold and Huber can pop his arm back in it's socket.
