Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tsuen Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hai Runyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tsuen Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hai Runyon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Runyon misses the shot to the body.

Runyon clinches.
Wong jumps guard but Runyon turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Wong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Runyon.
Nice takedown defense from Runyon. No joy for Wong on that attempt.
Runyon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Runyon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wong to the ground. Runyon is now in Wong's guard.
Wong is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Runyon is controlling him.
Wong striking off his back but it's not causing Runyon any problems.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Runyon has eaten all the pies!
Wong has his hands on Runyon's head, controlling the position.

Runyon wants to control from the top but Wong keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Runyon stuns Wong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Runyon has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wong successfully pulls guard.

Wong is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Runyon is aware though and is defending well.
Wong wants to sweep here but Runyon controlling him for the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hai Runyon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Runyon slips a straight right by Wong.
Runyon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Wong decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Runyon is not content to let Wong control the position.

Wong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Runyon avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tsuen Wong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wong is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Runyon's half guard.
Runyon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wong scores with a couple of nice shots.

Wong looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wong wants to take a breather but Runyon is having none of it.

Runyon tries to clinch up but Wong circles away and keeps his distance.

Wong manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Runyon on his heels. He'll look to pass Runyon's guard now, I'm sure.

Wong wants to get up but he can't break Runyon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tsuen Wong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Runyon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wong.
Runyon is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Wong stalling away here and it's allowed Runyon to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Wong tries to free his leg and advance position but Runyon is retaining full guard.
Wong passes Runyon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Runyon is trying to maintain the position but Wong is very close to passing his half guard.

Wong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Runyon wants to improve his position but Wong is controlling well.
Wong tries to pass to full mount but Runyon defends it.
Wong is trying to control. Runyon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Wong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Runyon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Runyon circles away quickly and effectively.
Runyon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wong.

Wong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wong ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wong no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Runyon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Runyon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Wong counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wong tries to stand and escape but Runyon is controlling the position.

Runyon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Runyon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wong drops back looking for a leg! Runyon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Runyon manages to kick Wong off! Wong jumps back into Runyon's guard.

Wong wants to take a breather but Runyon is having none of it.

Wong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
