And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dekker to the ground. Messi is now in Dekker's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dekker wants to sweep but no luck.
Messi works over Dekker with some ground and pound from guard.
Messi is in close to Dekker's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Messi showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Messi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Messi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dekker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dekker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Messi on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Messi dives in and scores a takedown into Dekker's guard.
Messi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Dekker wants to get back to his feet but Messi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Messi loads up on a big left hand. Dekker felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Messi looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Dekker can't hide his disappointment, as Messi celebrates the victory.
