Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boris Hutchinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Best will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boris Hutchinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Best!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Best avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Best tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hutchinson was well out of range. Poor timing from Best.
Best uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hutchinson.

Hutchinson tries to sprawl but Best drives through with a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Best keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Let's hope that Best has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Best is keen to just control but Hutchinson is a slippery customer.

Best is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hutchinson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hutchinson has escaped and now he's on top!
Hutchinson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hutchinson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Best has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hutchinson has managed to get both his arms back between Best's legs - danger averted.

Best escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hutchinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Best working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Hutchinson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Best is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hutchinson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Best is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hutchinson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Best tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Best has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Best is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Best performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Best's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Johnny Best is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Best throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hutchinson was covering up waiting for the punch and Best finishes the takedown easily into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Best comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Best has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
