Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Binho Berde! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Callum Hanly! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanly closes the distance and clinches up with Berde, looking for a takedown. Hanly pushes Berde against the cage but Berde circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hanly misses with a few strikes there.
Hanly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Berde throws a head kick that misses. Berde is looking to clinch but Hanly is avoiding it.
Hanly scores with a jab to the jaw. Binho Berde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Berde drives through with a takedown into Hanly's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Hanly working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Berde. Berde trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Berde in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Berde stands up and waves to Hanly to follow him. Hanly moves to clinch but Berde breaks away and Berde counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berde drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hanly pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hanly shoots in and bounces Berde off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Berde might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Berde bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hanly's guard. Berde's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hanly tries to strike from the bottom.
Hanly is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hanly looks winded! Berde passes Hanly's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Berde is controlling the pace.
Hanly is in trouble now - Berde has advanced to mount! Berde controlling the position easily from mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Berde lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berde is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hanly is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hanly flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Berde anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hanly and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Berde slips an arm under Hanly chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Berde has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Berde is squeezing on Hanly like an anaconda would it's prey. Hanly fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
