Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Franco Micheli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Micheli is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Micheli wants to clinch up but Rodriguez keeps it at a distance. Micheli forces Rodriguez back against the cage and clinches. Micheli using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Rodriguez has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Rodriguez has picked Micheli up - he's going for a ride! Rodriguez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Rodriguez seems to be looking for submissions.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Micheli wants to stand back up but Rodriguez manages to pass into side control.
Micheli might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Micheli is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rodriguez asserts his dominance and retains side control. Rodriguez has hold of Micheli's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Micheli seems comfortable defending it but Rodriguez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Micheli is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Micheli is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Rodriguez couldn't care less - he's delighted!
