Pavel Kotov struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Golovkin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Golovkin is really struggling to control Kotov but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Golovkin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kotov manages to get himself to full guard.

Golovkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kotov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kotov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Golovkin as he jumps to the side.

Golovkin tries to close the distance and clinch but Kotov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Golovkin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kotov closes the distance and clinches up with Golovkin, looking for a takedown. Kotov pushes Golovkin against the ropes but Golovkin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Golovkin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Kotov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Golovkin sprawls well. Golovkin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kotov gets slowly back to his feet.
