Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Maure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with booker T blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Maure! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Maure finds it's way through Silva's defenses. Maure throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range. Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maure can pounce on him.
Maure drops Silva with a nice combination! Maure dives into Silva's guard, looking to finish!
Silva is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maure sitting in guard here, content to control. Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maure manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control from the top but Maure keeps moving. Maure is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him. Silva throws a big right hand that misses. Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Maure manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Maure in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva has momentary wrist control but Maure slips an elbow through the middle. Maure would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Maure content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Silva looking to control but Maure passes into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Maure wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maure missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Maure tries to stand but can't do so whilst Silva controls his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maure is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Silva is looking to control Maure's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted? Maure is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer. The fighters are battling for position here. Silva manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Maure missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Maure avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Maure must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Maure wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Maure postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maure throws a big right hand that misses. Maure really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maure postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maure, into his guard. Silva forces his way into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maure moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Maure dominated that round. That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Maure looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Maure persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing. Matthew Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maure throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily. Maure avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from Maure does it's job there. Silva goes for a double leg but Maure avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maure continues to drive forward. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva gets the takedown into side control. Silva throws an elbow but Maure slips to the side and avoids it well. Dan Maure has got the better of the ground game so far. Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maure keeps working. Silva postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maure has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maure explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Maure throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maure's coach down at Werewolf's cave was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Maure's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Maure catches Silva with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Silva with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maure to score with a decent uppercut. Silva tries to clinch there but Maure circles away.
Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maure is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Maure wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to control from Maure's half guard. Maure has other ideas though and has regained full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maure works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maure has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Maure. Maure is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Maure is not content to let Silva control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Check out the look on Silva's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Maure would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Maure throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maure not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Maure trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dan Maure will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maure counters with a stiff right hand. Maure lands a nice shot that snaps Silva's head back.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maure is defended easily by Silva. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maure as he avoids it easily. Dan Maure seems to be getting the better of the standup. Maure tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Maure looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well. Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maure sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maure swivels and escapes. Maure tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maure lands a two punch combo.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maure's waist but Maure gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maure counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Maure forces Silva back against the cage and clinches. A left hand lands to the body for Maure.
Maure gets through Silva's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Maure is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Silva prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silva stalling in the clinch but Maure improves position. Maure is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Silva tries to pull guard but Maure holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.

A short right from Maure on the inside. Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Maure uses from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maure missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maure can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maure accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Maure has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from. Maure working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Maure trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Silva being controlled here, momentarily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dan Maure hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Maure misses with a series of wild punches.
Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Maure gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maure is working Silva over against the cage. Maure lands a left hand.
Matthew Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dan Maure is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Maure's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Maure comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maure has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
