Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Vandalay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 13 - 2, fighting out of London, David Kappa! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kappa drives through with a takedown into Vandalay's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kappa stopping the sweep attempt from Vandalay. Vandalay not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kappa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Vandalay wants to sweep but no luck. Kappa is stalling in the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Art Vandalay wasn't doing enough on the ground. Vandalay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kappa scores with a decent looking hook.
It looks like Art Vandalay has been cut. Kappa thuds a left hand into Vandalay's body. Vandalay stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like David Kappa has been cut. Art Vandalay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vandalay throws a sloppy body shot
and Kappa counters with a stiff right hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Vandalay jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kappa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Vandalay. That's going to slow Kappa down. Kappa swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vandalay checks a leg kick nicely. A decent looking cross lands there for Vandalay. Kappa jabs at Vandalay's body. Vandalay throws a looping overhand right but Kappa ducks down to avoid it. Kappa tries a head kick but it misses.
Kappa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vandalay manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Vandalay wants to sweep but no luck. Vandalay is pulling down on Kappa's head to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vandalay trying to control the position.
Kappa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kappa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vandalay. Vandalay fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vandalay throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kappa throws a right hand that Vandalay ducks under and follows up with a left that Vandalay also avoids with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kappa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vandalay takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kappa thumps Vandalay with a low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kappa avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Kappa thows a body shot but no joy. Vandalay throws a looping overhand right but Kappa ducks down to avoid it. Kappa chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kappa throws a front kick aimed at Vandalay's knee but Vandalay avoids it well. Vandalay lunges at Kappa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kappa's hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Kappa dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!
Kappa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Vandalay's guard. Vandalay is trying to control the position but Kappa postures up. Kappa controls from within his opponent's guard. Vandalay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Vandalay looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kappa is one step ahead there. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vandalay holds on and takes a little breather.

Art Vandalay has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kappa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Vandalay checks the leg kick. Kappa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vandalay throws out the jab. Vandalay misses with a hook. Kappa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Vandalay misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kappa counters with a nice leg kick. Vandalay misses with a looping left. Kappa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Vandalay lands a lovely overhand right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A punch combination from Vandalay misses. David Kappa seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kappa with a body punch. A glancing blow. Vandalay punishes Kappa's body with a nice straight punch. Good work by Kappa as he checks the leg kick. Vandalay misses with a looping right. Kappa fails to land the takedown. A good leg kick by Vandalay. Vandalay uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kappa misses with a body shot.
Kappa shoots in for a takedown but Vandalay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Art Vandalay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Kappa. Vandalay throws a body punch but Kappa moves out of range. Vandalay lands the left hand. Kappa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vandalay. Jab from Vandalay. Kappa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vandalay rather than just go for the knockout. Vandalay lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Kappa - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Vandalay!
