Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donnie McLeftout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braxton Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yates has chosen My Name Is Mud as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLeftout changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yates looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. McLeftout tries to move into full mount but can't pass Yates's legs. Yates tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yates is not content to let McLeftout control the position. Yates is looking to reverse the position. Sloppy strikes there by McLeftout. McLeftout stands up and we're back to a striking position. McLeftout shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Yates looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. McLeftout tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yates swivels and escapes. Yates fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yates blocks a head kick by McLeftout.
McLeftout gets a clinch. Yates is working for takedown but McLeftout is calmly controlling the position for now. McLeftout escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McLeftout scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. McLeftout has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yates manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! McLeftout is breathing heavily. Yates seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McLeftout does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. McLeftout is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yates's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yates's back! Yates defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Yates breaks McLeftout's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yates with a flurry of punches that miss. Yates missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McLeftout keeping moving, preventing Yates from controlling successfully. Yates wanted to stand there but McLeftout had control of the position. McLeftout keeping full guard, as Yates tries to pass. McLeftout is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Yates trying to control the position from guard on top but McLeftout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. McLeftout rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yates moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yates closes the distance but McLeftout moves to the side and McLeftout counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yates's guard now. McLeftout in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. McLeftout pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yates is keeping the position for now. Yates has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McLeftout can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Yates is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McLeftout wants to control from the top but Yates keeps moving. McLeftout slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLeftout won't allow Yates to sweep him here. McLeftout scoring with some ground and pound. Yates wants to sweep here but McLeftout controlling him for the moment. Yates being controlled here, momentarily. Yates not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McLeftout looks to land a combination but Yates avoids it well. Donnie McLeftout dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Yates keeps the fight on the outside. McLeftout gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. McLeftout is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McLeftout looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Yates passes McLeftout's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Yates is looking for a kimura here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yates is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yates not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McLeftout works his way to full guard. Good work. McLeftout is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Yates trying to control the position from guard on top but McLeftout is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McLeftout looking for a triangle here. Yates is fighting it but it looks tight! McLeftout pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Yates is tapping out - this one is all over!
