PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miles Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Miles Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Cho!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cho shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Perry's guard.
Cho wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.
Cho postures up in Perry's guard and throws a big left but Perry blocks it.
Perry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cho is looking to stand up but Perry won't let him.
Cho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Perry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cho trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Perry avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Perry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Perry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cho gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Cho looking to score a takedown here. Perry is defending well but Cho drives through and ends up in Perry's guard.
Cho working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Perry looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cho passes into side control.
Perry is trying to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here.
Cho misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes there by Cho.
Cho avoids the strikes from the bottom by Perry.
Cho tries to score with some ground and pound. Perry controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Cho decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cho fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Perry sprawls well initially but Cho persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cho gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Perry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cho to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perry keeping moving, preventing Cho from controlling successfully.
Perry has a closed guard, preventing Cho from standing up.
Perry avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Perry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Cho throws a strike but Perry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Cho wriggles free and stands up.

Cho shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cho was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cho decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Cho dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Cho dives in and scores a takedown into Perry's guard.
Cho in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cho wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.
Cho stays in close to Perry's body and controls the position.
Perry working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cho.
Cho is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Cho wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cho has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Perry tries to keep at a distance but Cho has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cho ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cho no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Cho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Perry throws an elbow that misses. Cho uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Perry's guard. Nice move by Cho!

Perry had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cho defends it easily.
Cho throwing strikes from guard but Perry blocks nicely.
Cho wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.

Cho gets to his feet. Perry looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cho takes the fight into the clinch.

Cho ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cho no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Perry throws a big right hand that misses.
Cho throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Jimmy Cho has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Cho misses with a head kick.
Perry tries to clinch but Cho is having none of it.
Perry fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Cho counters with a head kick that drops Perry to the mat! Perry scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Perry is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cho is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Perry is in big trouble! Cho is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Perry. Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Jimmy Cho!
