The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Palau misses with a head kick.
Fisher throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palau. Palau doesn't manage to clinch there - Fisher circles away.
Palau throws a head kick but Fisher moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palau swinging wilding here.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Fisher closes the distance and clinches up with Palau, looking for a takedown. Fisher pushes Palau against the cage but Palau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Fisher. No joy for Palau on that attempt. Fisher falls off balance throwing a combination
and Palau counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Fisher shoots and misses and Palau counters with a good low kick that Fisher was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fisher shoots for a takedown but Palau saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nelson Palau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Fisher. Palau doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fisher counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fisher. Palau tries to strike from the bottom.
Palau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fisher is trying to land a reversal but Palau doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle. Palau is tightening it up though! This could be trouble for Fisher! Fisher trying desperately to escape but he's gone limp! He's out! Wooooorld class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Palau!
