PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Vadokowich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vadokowich comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman. Vadokowich has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vadim Vadokowich!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Do!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vadokowich misses with an uppercut
and Do counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vadokowich misses with a hook.
Do dives in and grabs Vadokowich's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vadokowich pushes down on Do's head and hops out.
Do lands with a right hand.
Do shoots in but Vadokowich avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Do is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Do shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vadokowich sprawls well. Vadokowich wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Do gets slowly back to his feet.
Vadim Vadokowich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Do.
Vadokowich throws a body punch but Do moves out of range.
A jab from Do does it's job there.
Vadokowich moves out of range of the leg kick from Do.
Vadokowich throws a wild body kick that Do sees coming a mile off.
Do tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vadokowich thows a body shot but no joy.
Vadokowich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Do.

Do slips under a jab.
Vadokowich is breathing heavily.

Do fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vadokowich, pushing him back against the cage.
Vadokowich misses with some punches.
Vadokowich swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Vadokowich lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Do backwards.
Vadokowich can't find room to land a body shot as Do controls the action.
Do missing with knees to the body.
Do wants a takedown but no success here.
Do gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Do can't get the takedown.
Do connects with a knee to the head.
Vadokowich misses with a hook from the clinch.
Do with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Do tries to work over Vadokowich's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Do tries to land a knee to the head but Vadokowich blocks with his arms.
Do softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Vadokowich has had enough of the clinch but Do keeps him there for the moment.

Vadokowich throws a punch but it's blocked by Do.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vadokowich has a couple of punches blocked by Do.
Vadokowich prevents a body shot from Do.
Knees to the body from Do.
Do lands a hook that snaps the head of Vadokowich backwards.
Vadokowich on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Do looking to throw knees to the head but Vadokowich is blocking nicely.

Do gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Do seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Vadokowich tries to roll over but Do keeps him under control.
Vadokowich trying to control but Do postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vadokowich with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


Vadokowich is rocked!
Do throwing shots but Vadokowich is blocking nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Do wants to free his trapped foot but Vadokowich is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Do takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Do winds up and cracks Vadokowich with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Vadokowich is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Brown House, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Vadokowich tries to roll over but Do keeps him under control.
Do not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Do trying to control the action but Vadokowich is working from the bottom.
Do not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Do takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Oh Vadokowich is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ground and pound from Do.
Do is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Do thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Vadokowich trying to control here.
Vadokowich seems to have got his legs back now.
Do has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Do drops an elbow to the side of Vadokowich's head.

Do throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Vadokowich keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Vadokowich tries to get to full guard but Do has control of the leg.
Do working Vadokowich over with strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Do throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Do thows a huge punch but Vadokowich dodges it nicely.
Do working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Do dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vadokowich tries to land a front kick but Do steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Do lands a nice leg kick that just misses Vadokowich's sensitive parts.
Vadokowich waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Do.
Do dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vadokowich. That did some damage!
Do moves in looking to clinch but Vadokowich pushes him off.
The fighters circling - Vadokowich throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Do slips under a jab.
Vadokowich takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Do tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Vadokowich is able to avoid easily.
Do jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Do tries to clinch there but Vadokowich circles away.
Vadokowich misses with a kick to the body
and Do counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice body punch from Do.

Do looking to score a takedown here. Vadokowich is defending well but Do drives through and ends up in Vadokowich's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Do loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Do is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Bruce Do has got the better of the ground game so far.

Do postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Vadokowich covers up, he's hurt! Do keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Do and the ref steps in to end the fight! Do can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Do!
