Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mek Ju!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kengo Watanabe!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ju avoids it really well and circles away.
Ju takes a jab right on the kisser.
A chopping leg kick lands by Ju.
Watanabe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ju moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Watanabe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ju.

Watanabe tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Watanabe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ju as he avoids it easily.
Mek Ju has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kengo Watanabe.

Watanabe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ju.

Watanabe darts in looking for a takedown but Ju gets double underhooks and turns Watanabe into the cage.

Ju has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Watanabe - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Ju, and another! Watanabe is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Mek Ju!
After the fight, Mek Ju was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
