Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caique Mafra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mafra is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Three Little Birds - Bob Marley. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jose tries to clinch but Mafra moves out of range.
Mafra tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jose defends well and Mafra ends up having to push Jose into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mafra is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jose pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mafra stalling in the clinch but Jose improves position.
Mafra takes a knee to the side of the body.
Mafra looking to throw knees to the head but Jose is blocking nicely.
Mafra tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Mafra takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Caique Mafra has been cut.
Jose escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jose tries to clinch there but Mafra circles away.
Jose definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jose takes the fight into the clinch.
Jose stops a takedown attempt from Mafra.
Paulo Jose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caique Mafra.
Mafra takes an elbow to the forehead.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mafra is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mafra wants a takedown.
Mafra looks winded!
Jose's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mafra keeps the fight on the outside.

Jose prevents the takedown attempt.

Mafra tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jose avoids it.

Jose breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jose tries to clinch there but Mafra circles away.
Mafra closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jose is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mafra is controlling him well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
My spies in Lethal Tech Academy inform me that Mafra has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Mafra is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jose knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mafra controls the position.

Mafra trying to control the action but Jose is working from the bottom.
Mafra has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Jose really wants to buck Mafra off and get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Caique Mafra's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!
Mafra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jose pinned against the cage. Jose gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mafra throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jose tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mafra is in Jose's guard.
Mafra engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Mafra won't allow Jose to get back to his feet.
Mafra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Caique Mafra hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Mafra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jose's guard.
Mafra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mafra stops Jose from standing up.
Mafra stays in close to Jose's body and controls the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Paulo Jose has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Mafra feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mafra passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Jose is pushing Mafra's head away, looking to escape. Mafra manages to hold on to the position though.
Mafra is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jose has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mafra has an Americana. Jose didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mafra is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mafra hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Caique Mafra!
As Caique Mafra got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Quero agradecer primeiramente a todo mundo que veio me prestigiar aqui, meus fans, a minha equipe, meus sparrings Enzo Mafra e Somulo Mafra também pra minha familia em Sao Paulo e Sao Luis do Maranhao, salve salve Sao Luis, tamo junto, OSS !'.
