Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Jefferson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brendon McQuinn! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Bruno Hogan and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferson misses with a series of wild punches.
McQuinn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jefferson throws a series of punches but McQuinn avoids them all with ease. McQuinn clinches. Jefferson can't break the clinch.
McQuinn misses with an elbow over the top. McQuinn lands an elbow that stopped Jefferson in his tracks for a moment. Jefferson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. McQuinn comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
George Jefferson's cut is getting worse. Nice elbow from McQuinn.
George Jefferson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. McQuinn throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jefferson takes an elbow to the forehead. McQuinn landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
McQuinn blocks an uppercut.
Jefferson tries for a takedown but McQuinn manages to get underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. McQuinn misses with an elbow over the top. McQuinn utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. McQuinn lands a knee to the body.
Jefferson is breathing heavily. A nice glancing elbow lands by McQuinn.
Jeez, George Jefferson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Jefferson is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Jefferson takes a knee to the side of the body. McQuinn is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. McQuinn cracks Jefferson with a nice body shot. This has been an exciting period of action! McQuinn comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at George Jefferson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Brendon McQuinn!
