PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miikka Milhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Pax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Milhouse might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Scorpions Rock you like a hurricane. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miikka Milhouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maximus Pax!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milhouse avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Milhouse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Milhouse wants to control but Pax has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Pax actively working from the bottom here.
Pax trying to control here.
Pax pushes Milhouse off looking to stand but Milhouse dives back in and keeps control.
Milhouse thows a huge punch but Pax dodges it nicely.
Pax is not content to let Milhouse control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Milhouse looks for a takedown but Pax sprawls well.

Pax remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Pax cracks Milhouse with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Pax decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Pax doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Milhouse counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pax is refusing to be controlled, as Milhouse sits in half guard.
Pax is looking to improve his position.
Milhouse prevents Pax from standing back up.
Milhouse is keen to just control but Pax is a slippery customer.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pax has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Milhouse is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pax wants to lay and pray for a moment but Milhouse keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Milhouse's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maximus Pax showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Milhouse gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Pax counters by moving into the clinch.

Pax gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pax is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Milhouse is looking for a sweep. Pax is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pax is keen to just control but Milhouse is a slippery customer.
Pax scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Milhouse flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Pax moves into full mount! Milhouse won't be happy about that!
Milhouse takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Pax looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pax avoids the attempt from Milhouse to control.
Milhouse wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Pax controlling the position well here. Milhouse rolled but Pax kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Milhouse is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Pax controlling the positon.
Pax doesn't have the hooks in and Milhouse manages to turn into his guard.
Milhouse wants to control from the top but Pax keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pax is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Milhouse throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pax works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pax throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pax fails with an attempt to clinch.
Miikka Milhouse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fighters circle momentarily. Pax darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pax showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Milhouse.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pax shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pax was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Maximus Pax is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Milhouse swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maximus Pax comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pax has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
