Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Teras Kassit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Linkin Park - Numb. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Maia. Kassit does a little dance to reset his feet.

Maia has his foot on Kassit's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kassit works his way back into a safe position though.

Kassit's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kassit duly obliges.

Maia throws a lazy right hand but Kassit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Maia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kassit was well out of range. Poor timing from Maia.

Demian Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maia pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kassit is out of range and Maia settles back down.

Kassit paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Maia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kassit throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily.
