Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Allen Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vesa Keskinen!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beltran throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Keskinen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Beltran tries to clinch up

and Keskinen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Keskinen.
Keskinen scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Allen Beltran has been cut.
Beltran is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Keskinen is defending well for now.
Keskinen tries to score a body lock takedown but Beltran shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Beltran tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Keskinen avoids it.
Beltran content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Keskinen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Keskinen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Allen Beltran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beltran tries to clinch up but Keskinen circles away and keeps his distance.

Keskinen tries to keep at a distance but Beltran has taken the fight into the clinch.

Keskinen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Keskinen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Keskinen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Beltran - that will leave a mark!
Keskinen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beltran as he avoids it easily.
Beltran is looking to clinch.
Keskinen shoots in but no luck this time.
Allen Beltran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vesa Keskinen.
Keskinen looks winded!

Keskinen has closed the distance and engaged Beltran in a clinch.
Beltran slowing the pace effectively.
Keskinen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Beltran.
Keskinen wants to take the fight to the mat but Beltran manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Keskinen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Keskinen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beltran avoids it really well and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beltran has Keskinen up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keskinen gets tackled into the cage by Beltran. Beltran maintains the clinch.
Beltran is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Keskinen is defending well.
Keskinen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Beltran using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Keskinen has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Keskinen jumps guard but Beltran stands there with Keskinen around his waist. Keskinen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Beltran throws a knee to the head but misses.

Keskinen jumps guard and drags Beltran to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Keskinen wants to get back to his feet but Beltran is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Beltran has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Keskinen is proving hard to escape from.

Keskinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beltran doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beltran manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Beltran wants to get up but he can't break Keskinen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Keskinen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beltran is one step ahead there.
Beltran wants to stand and escape but instead Keskinen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Beltran wants to stand but Keskinen is controlling the position.

Beltran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Keskinen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Beltran wants to get back to his feet but Keskinen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Keskinen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Keskinen controlling from the top position.
Keskinen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beltran works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Keskinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Keskinen wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Vesa Keskinen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Keskinen swats away the attempt to clinch by Beltran.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beltran looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Beltran wants to clinch up but Keskinen keeps it at a distance.
Keskinen lands a leg kick that knocks Beltran off balance momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Allen Beltran will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Keskinen shoots in looking for a takedown but Beltran manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Keskinen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Beltran tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Beltran shoots in and drives through. Keskinen sprawls well.
Beltran misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beltran bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Beltran tries to clinch up.
Keskinen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beltran's waist but Beltran gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Keskinen off to one side.
Keskinen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Keskinen.

Beltran tries to keep at a distance but Keskinen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Keskinen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Beltran is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Allen Beltran. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Beltran breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Beltran leaves Keskinen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Allen Beltran.
Well Beltran has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
