The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martinez tries to clinch there but Rhode circles away.
Rhode looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martinez is fending him off so far but Rhode persists. Nope, Martinez circles away and we're back to standing.
Rhode tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martinez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rhode somewhat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rhode takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice body kick there by Martinez.
Martinez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Rhode stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Martinez.
Javier Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martinez drops Rhode with a beautiful combination! Rhode stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Martinez is looking for the KO!

Martinez wants to clinch up but Rhode keeps it at a distance.
Oh Rhode is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Martinez catches Rhode with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Rhode forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
