PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon has chosen All Summer Long as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mario Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buddy Brandon!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brandon shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Brandon gets to his feet. Gracie looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gracie is looking to clinch but Brandon is avoiding it.

Brandon clinches up with Gracie and pushes him back against the cage.
Brandon lands a knee to the body.

Brandon manages to pull guard.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brandon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brandon has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brandon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brandon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Buddy Brandon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Brandon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard.

Brandon uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.

Brandon stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Brandon lands a huge takedown. Gracie is out but the ref is slow to react and Brandon lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Gracie lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
