Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Horwood Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergio Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Horwood Jr! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horwood Jr is looking to slow Shields down with leg kicks. Horwood Jr turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Horwood Jr swings away with a body shot that misses
and Shields counters by moving into the clinch. Horwood Jr tries to stall but Shields uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Horwood Jr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shields gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Shields has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Horwood Jr regains guard immediately. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shields prevents Horwood Jr from getting back to his feet. Horwood Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet Horwood Jr, not yet. Horwood Jr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shields is controlling him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shields scoring with some ground and pound. Horwood Jr wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Shields manages to pass to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horwood Jr wants to get back to full guard. Shields perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. It looks like Shields is going to stand back up.

Shields is trying to work for a kimura but Horwood Jr is defending well.
Shields is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Horwood Jr sees it coming and defends easily.

Horwood Jr is looking to escape. Horwood Jr is looking to control Shields's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Horwood Jr avoid being mounted? Horwood Jr wants to get back to his feet.
Horwood Jr looks winded! Horwood Jr wants to control but Shields is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Shields tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horwood Jr is staying active underneath Shields, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Horwood Jr is trying to stand back up but Shields is controlling him

Shields lands a big elbow. Shields with shots to the head and body - Horwood Jr looks very uncomfortable down there. Shields controlling from the full mount. Horwood Jr taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horwood Jr tries to improve his position but instead Shields has taken his back! Shields lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Horwood Jr hold on?!
Shields is persistently looking for the submission but Horwood Jr is defending it well.
Shields controls the position. Horwood Jr is trying to get back to his feet but Shields has full control of the position and if anything, Horwood Jr has just worked his way into a worse spot. Shields really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horwood Jr wants to escape the position.
Shields looking to break Horwood Jr's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Horwood Jr remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shields will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sergio Shields will probably get the nod. That's time! Shields's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Horwood Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Horwood Jr lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shields has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shields and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Horwood Jr fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Shields with a lazy takedown attempt and Horwood Jr counters with a leg kick. Horwood Jr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Horwood Jr wants to clinch up but Shields keeps it at a distance. Horwood Jr fails with an attempt to clinch.
Horwood Jr lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Horwood Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shields takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Horwood Jr scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Horwood Jr throws a hook to the side of Shields's head but Shields sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Horwood Jr is breathing heavily. Nice takedown defense from Horwood Jr. No joy for Shields on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bone on bone clash there as Shields blocks the leg kick.
Tom Horwood Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horwood Jr tries to score with a low kick but Shields moves his leg out of the way. Horwood Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Horwood Jr lands a really nice looking cross but Shields seems unphased.
Horwood Jr gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Shields is trying to pull guard but Horwood Jr turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergio Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Horwood Jr blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nice body punch from Shields - that landed with a thud.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields lands with a left to the head. Shields wants to take the fight to the mat but Horwood Jr manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Shields misses with a knee to the head. Horwood Jr lands an elbow that stopped Shields in his tracks for a moment. Shields is trying to pull guard but Horwood Jr turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Horwood Jr creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Shields's defenses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Horwood Jr's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Horwood Jr with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Horwood Jr is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shields pulls him back up using the underhooks. Shields has hold of one of Horwood Jr's legs. Horwood Jr is fighting the takedown attempt but Shields gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horwood Jr wants to stand but Shields is controlling the position. Shields preventing the sweep. Horwood Jr is looking to stand up but Shields isn't so interested in that idea. Shields's corner is telling him to maintain position. Horwood Jr wants to stand but Shields is controlling the position. Sergio Shields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sergio Shields just wasn't active enough. Horwood Jr gets caught flat footed, as Shields shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horwood Jr is pulling down on Shields's head. It's preventing any offense from Shields, at least for the moment. Shields content to stall in guard here. Shields drops back looking for a leg! Horwood Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Horwood Jr manages to kick Shields off! Shields jumps back into Horwood Jr's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Horwood Jr wants to stand and escape but Shields is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Horwood Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Horwood Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shields wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shields slows the pace down. Horwood Jr wants to get back to his feet. Horwood Jr is looking for a sweep. Shields lands some shots froms side control. Horwood Jr is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields tries for a kimura but Horwood Jr is defending well. Horwood Jr tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Shields easily slips into full mount! Horwood Jr is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Shields takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Shields is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Horwood Jr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Horwood Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't. Shields will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've been informed that Horwood Jr has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Horwood Jr is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Shields has taken his back!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergio Shields. I think Shields has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
