Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Houston has chosen Here Comes the Pain as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Houston!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houston throws a series of punches but Rogers moves out of range.

Rogers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Houston's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Houston working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rogers.
Rogers showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Rogers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Houston wants to stand up but Rogers is controlling him.

Houston is working an open guard so Rogers takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Houston throws a nice looking combination but Rogers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A jab from Houston does it's job there.
Houston misses with a jab, cross combination.
Houston throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rogers counters with a nice uppercut.

Houston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Houston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rogers dodges the punch combination from Houston.
Houston throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rogers counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Houston enables Rogers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Houston manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rogers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rogers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Rogers passes Houston's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Rogers keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Rogers not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rogers landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Houston on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Rogers stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Houston to get to his feet.
Houston swings for the body but Rogers moves out of range.
Mike Houston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rogers gets a double leg takedown into Houston's guard.

Rogers stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Rogers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Houston was covering up waiting for the punch and Rogers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rogers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Houston's head.
Rogers works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rogers is trying to control the action in half guard but Houston is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Houston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rogers throwing shots but Houston is blocking nicely.
Houston is looking for a sweep. Rogers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Houston trying to hold on to Rogers's head to control him but Rogers postures up.

Rogers wants to work for an arm triangle but Houston is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Houston is defending against the submission attempts here by Rogers.
Well, if Rogers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Houston keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Houston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rogers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Houston misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rogers clobbers Houston with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Houston throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Houston throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mike Houston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rogers displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Houston throws out the jab.

Rogers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rogers tries to advance to mount but Houston denies him.
Houston can't do much from the bottom here.

Houston looks to move to half guard but instead Rogers has passed into mount! Damn!
Houston tries to hold on but Rogers pushes him away.
Rogers is landing with some decent strikes but Houston is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rogers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Houston can do to turn this around?
Rogers cracks Houston with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Houston is still in real trouble! Can Rogers finish him?
Rogers postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Houston in real trouble here! The ref calls for Houston to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Rogers!
A less than humble Sam Rogers misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
