Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jong Un Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fred Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim lands a nice leg kick that just misses Patterson's sensitive parts.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Patterson.
Kim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Patterson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kim parries the strikes from Patterson easily there. Patterson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kim to escape.
Patterson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kim some visible discomfort.
Patterson trying to control the position but Kim is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim manages to get back to half guard.
Kim is looking for a sweep. Patterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kim is not content to let Patterson control the position.

Patterson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Patterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kim is looking for a sweep. Patterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Patterson is pressing down on Kim's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kim is holding on for now.
Patterson slows the pace down in half guard.

Patterson thows an elbow strike that misses. Kim gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Patterson doesn't seem too bothered but Kim quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Patterson is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Patterson really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jong Un Kim!
Jong Un Kim got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
