Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Hardinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerrold Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Hardinger!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nolan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hardinger looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Nolan sitting in guard here, content to control.
Nolan is looking to stand up but Hardinger won't let him.
Nolan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Nolan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hardinger wants to stand but Nolan is controlling the position.
Nolan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Nolan really is a fat lump.

Hardinger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nolan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nolan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Nolan chips away with some ground and pound.
Nolan works over Hardinger with some ground and pound from guard.

Nolan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hardinger, up you get!
Hardinger slaps away a takedown attempt from Nolan, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Nolan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Nolan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nolan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hardinger preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nolan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nolan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nolan stands and steps away. Hardinger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nolan shoots for a takedown but Hardinger saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nolan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Nolan pulls guard successfully.

Nolan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardinger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nolan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Nolan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Nolan tries to clinch but Hardinger is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nolan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nolan postures up.
Hardinger might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nolan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Hardinger wants to sweep here but Nolan controlling him for the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Nolan stands and steps away. Hardinger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hardinger gets caught napping as Nolan dives in and scores a takedown. Hardinger manages to retain guard.
Hardinger controls Nolan momentarily but Nolan frees himself.
Nolan throwing strikes but missing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nolan stopping the sweep attempt from Hardinger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nolan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nolan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerrold Nolan dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Nolan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jerrold Nolan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nolan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hardinger trying to hold on to Nolan's head to control him but Nolan postures up.
Hardinger wants to get back to his feet.
Hardinger taking some punishment here, with Nolan in his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nolan is working for a kimura but Hardinger is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nolan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hardinger sees it coming and defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nolan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hardinger is looking for a sweep. Nolan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nolan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Nolan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hardinger defend it? Nolan steps over the head and cranks it - Hardinger is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Nolan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jerrold Nolan!
Andrew Hardinger spoke after the fight, saying 'you know this guy is tougher stronger faster and I need to work'.
