Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riggs comes to the cage accompanied by big gun - AC/DC. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands a nice hook to Riggs's body. Riggs takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Diaz thows a left - swing and a miss!
Diaz throws a shot from downtown. Riggs moves away and avoids it.
Diaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diaz thows a body shot but no joy.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riggs manages to avoid it.

Riggs throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Riggs is in Diaz's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Riggs connects with a couple of short punches.
