Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lazarus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan ONeal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the ring accompanied by Enter Sandman. The crowd seem to be enjoying ONeal's choice of entrance music: Eyes of the Tiger. Lazarus Jones could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dan ONeal's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lazarus Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan ONeal! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ONeal takes the fight into the clinch. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. ONeal smiles and moves away.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has ONeal pinned against the cage. ONeal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. ONeal tries to clinch up. ONeal wants to clinch. ONeal tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. ONeal fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but ONeal persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from ONeal.

Jones scores with a few weak punches. ONeal stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of ONeal's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take ONeal's back! Jones is not going to allow ONeal to sit and survive in this position. Jones is trying to stick to ONeal's back but ONeal is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by ONeal. ONeal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. ONeal chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. ONeal keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head. ONeal trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. ONeal works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jones is trying to control but can't.

ONeal wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. ONeal stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. ONeal is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. ONeal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. ONeal lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but ONeal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan ONeal dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by ONeal. ONeal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jones is trying to improve his position. Jones throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Jones is looking to regain half guard here but ONeal keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard. ONeal scores with punches from side control. ONeal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Jones taking a bit of punishment here - ONeal scoring with strikes. Jones is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked ONeal off and has taken his back! Jones loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can ONeal hold on?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones looking to break ONeal's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. ONeal remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jones will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Jones tries to keep control of the position but ONeal is staying busy. ONeal manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jones's guard. Nice work there by ONeal.

That's two minutes gone in the round. ONeal seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt. ONeal is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! ONeal scores with a couple of good hammerfists. ONeal trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it. ONeal seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jones punching from the bottom.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. ONeal closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - ONeal lands in his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan ONeal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones tries for a takedown but ONeal circles away easily and ONeal decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in ONeal's guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. ONeal tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jones throws a big right hand that misses. ONeal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
ONeal has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up. Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. ONeal has a loose triangle. Dan ONeal really dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
ONeal is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nice uppercut there from ONeal. Jones on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. ONeal wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. ONeal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. ONeal scoring with strikes to the body and head. Jones taking some punishment here, with ONeal in his half guard. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. ONeal lands with a punch from half guard. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. Dan ONeal has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones missing with punches from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. ONeal lands a decent elbow from side control. Jones striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

Dan ONeal dominated that fourth round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and ONeal counters with a straight punch to the midsection. ONeal shoots and misses and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for ONeal! Jones with a couple of short strikes. Jones landing strikes, looking to finish! ONeal is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea. A nice elbow there by Jones. ONeal manages to regain half guard. Good work. Jones prevents ONeal from improving his position. Nice strikes from Jones there.
That's one minute gone in the round. ONeal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but ONeal is retaining full guard. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. ONeal is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and ONeal counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jones's guard now. ONeal trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Jones doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Jones is striking off his back. ONeal thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Jones connecting with a few gentle strikes. Jones is looking to improve his position.
Lazarus Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jones with a lazy takedown attempt and ONeal counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lazarus Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. ONeal gets the takedown into side control. ONeal working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dan ONeal is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! ONeal blocks the strikes from Jones.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan ONeal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well ONeal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
