Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryuu Tatsuya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatsuya's entrance music is DBZ. A fine choice. Hopkins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cake - I will survive. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuu Tatsuya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Henry Hopkins! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopkins lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Hopkins misses with a looping right. Tatsuya moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Henry Hopkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tatsuya misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tatsuya sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Hopkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tatsuya looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nice jab there from Tatsuya. Hopkins misses with a lunging right hand
and Tatsuya counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hopkins's knee momentarily. Tatsuya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tatsuya clinches up with Hopkins and pushes him back against the ropes. Hopkins is trying to maintain a safe position but Tatsuya gets an underhook and turns Hopkins into the ropes. With the fighters up against the ropes, Tatsuya throws an elbow but misses. Tatsuya blocks an uppercut.

Hopkins trying to control the position but instead, Tatsuya has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hopkins into the ropes. Tatsuya tries a knee to the head but Hopkins blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hopkins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Tatsuya misses with an elbow strike.

It looks like Henry Hopkins has been cut. Tatsuya lands an elbow inside. Stalling in the clinch from Tatsuya.

Tatsuya lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hopkins backwards. Tatsuya's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Hopkins takes a knee to the side of the body. Tatsuya landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Tatsuya digs a right hand underneath Hopkins's ribcage. Hopkins let out a lung full of air as it connected. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hopkins. Tatsuya scores a nice knee to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tatsuya connects with a knee to the head.
Hopkins is rocked! Hopkins's coach down at The Training Hive (msg to rent a coach) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hopkins's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Tatsuya landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Hopkins is still on wobbly legs! Can Tatsuya finish him? Hopkins letting Tatsuya take a breather here. Tatsuya is controlling Hopkins's neck. Tatsuya unleashes a big knee up the middle! And another! Hopkins goes down! Can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6... he's not going to make it! 9,10. It's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Ryuu Tatsuya! Ryuu Tatsuya really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that L.A. Elite Clothing Co logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
